Email signup

If you choose to sign up, we store your email address, signup time, page and the version of the permission text you accepted. The list is stored privately for Spooky Stuff updates. It is not displayed publicly or sold.

Newsletters are not being sent yet. When an email delivery service is connected, it will process the signup information needed to send the updates you requested. We will update this notice before activating that service and include an unsubscribe option in messages.

Remove a signup

After signing up, save the private removal link shown in the confirmation. It lets you delete the associated signup without receiving an email. If you submit the same address again, your original removal link remains the one to use.

If you no longer have your private link, email hello@getspookystuff.com from the address you used to sign up and request removal.

Shopping-link counts

We count retailer-link clicks by day, page, destination and a broad source label such as YouTube or email. These counts do not contain email addresses, visitor IDs, cookies or full browsing histories. This measurement respects browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand page visits, engagement and shopping-link clicks. Google Analytics uses cookies and pseudonymous identifiers to measure these interactions. We do not send signup email addresses or private removal tokens to Analytics, and it is not loaded on the email-preferences page. We disable advertising personalization and Google signals, and do not load Analytics when your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control. These analytics are separate from our aggregate shopping-link counter.

Abuse prevention and hosting

Our form uses request limits and a hidden spam field. The server processes network addresses to create short-lived hourly hashes for rate limits; it does not put raw addresses in our signup or click tables. Expired limit records are cleared as later requests arrive. Our hosting provider also processes requests to operate and secure the site.

Retention

Email signup records remain until removed or transferred into the email service used for the requested newsletter. Aggregate click counts are retained for up to one year, with older counts cleared during subsequent measurement requests.

Retailer websites

Retailer links open separate websites with their own privacy practices. Affiliate links may allow those retailers or their affiliate providers to attribute purchases. Our click counter does not report whether you completed a purchase.
