SPOOKY STUFF!
Useful choices. Clear tradeoffs.
How Spooky Stuff researches products, compares retailers and explains what you are buying.
Affiliate disclosure: We may earn a commission when you buy through links to Amazon and other retailers, at no additional cost to you. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
We start with a real use
Size, placement, actual movement, controls, materials, included parts and fit matter more than filling a category with similar products. We include alternatives when they serve a different budget or purpose.
We identify the source
Product facts and photos come from the linked retailers or manufacturers. Displayed prices from other retailers are snapshots from the stated check date, not live guarantees. For Amazon, follow the product link to check current pricing and availability. Selected sizes, sellers and stock can change. Confirm the exact variant and total at checkout.
We distinguish research from testing
Published specifications help compare features. They do not prove long-term reliability, comfort, weather performance or real-world output. We label research-based recommendations and do not invent ratings, tests or customer experiences.
We compare the whole offer
When exact-product offers are comparable, we generally prefer familiar checkout at Home Depot, Amazon, Walmart, Lowe’s or Target. Specialty stores make sense for distinctive products or a better offer. Marketplace seller identity, shipping, returns and availability can change the choice.
How commissions fit in
We consider affiliate programs and eligible commissions alongside shopping convenience. We do not treat advertised maximum commission rates as guaranteed earnings. Commissions can help decide between otherwise comparable offers, but consumer value comes first.
What a “pick” means
Our selections are editorial recommendations for particular uses, not sales rankings. Deluxe and Signature Collection are product names, not independent quality certifications. No star rating is added unless its source and meaning can be supported.
Keeping guides current
We date product checks and make corrections when information changes. Event dates are marked unconfirmed where we have not established the current season’s schedule.
